Stylish Nails

Just a quick update! I got my nails done a few days ago. Usually, I go for something short, simple and classic. However, this time I've decided to try something new. I'm in a new stage in my life and I've decided to express it through my nails. Not only that, but I wanted to get the bright colors out of the way before fall hits us.

Hope you enjoy!

Freshman Dorm T-shirt

Recently, my school hosted an event called Freshman Convocation and every single freshman that lived in the dorms was required to go. Even though that in itself was pretty lame, that wasn't even the worst part. The bad part about it was that we were all required to wear matching t-shirts! Every buildings' students were forced to wear different colors of the same t-shirt, depending on which building you were in. So my roommates and I decided, why not make our t-shirts stand out? So I got to cutting...
I started out by drawing a line halfway across the shirt exactly where I wanted to cut it. As you can see, I've already cut the neckline off.

From here, I've simply cut off the sleeves following the hemline and cropped the shirt to where it is high in the front and lower in the back. Then, I took a couple of pieces of scrap...

With those two pieces of scrap, I tied a bow at the shoulders of the shirt to give it more of a feminine look.

Then, I did a technic called shredding. Shredding is basically when you pull out the individual threading of fabric using your fingers or, in my case, tweezers. If you'd like to learn how to shred, check out this video here.

This was the finished product!

BoHo Love

First off, I want to apologize for the lag in posting. I've been busy getting situated with my dorm and first year of college. Thankfully, I'm back with my first outfit of the day in a while. I bought this dress about 4 or 5 months ago but, for the life of me, couldn't decide when or where to wear it. I thought it was just too beautiful to wear just anywhere but also too beautiful to just sit in my closet. So I decided 4 or 5 months later to finally whip it out on this nice labor day weekend. It was perfect because it was not too hot out but not too cool either. I felt so pretty wearing it! I might add that I feel more like myself when I'm dressed in the bohemian style, so this dress was just right for me.
Hope you enjoy!
